Handler wrote the book A Series of Unfortunate Events under the pen name Lemony Snicket, which was later adapted into a popular Paramount film and Peabody Award-winning Netflix series. Founded by veteran producer Cosgrove and best-selling author Foer, Leviathan is an independent production company dedicated to creating high-quality film and television content based on Jewish stories.
The company is currently trying to adapt Leonard Slater's book, based on the true stories of the men and women who tried to find airplanes in America and transport them to Israel before the Revolutionary War. . , as well as the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Secret Chord by Geraldine Brooks, about the rise and reign of King David of Israel.
Also in development is playwright Anna Ziegler's West End adaptation of the award-winning play Picture 51, starring Nicole Kidman: The project tells the story of Rosalind Franklin, a brilliant Jewish scientist who discovers the structure of DNA only to defeat Watson.
