You get Phoenix Downs by traveling through towns and dungeons and opening chests. Phoenix Downs are one of the most important items in the game, as they allow you to revive characters. However, you can't buy it from the Final Fantasy 3 store, so you can only use it a limited number of times.
Until you unlock the awakening spell, you have no other option to revive your character unless you go to town and use the fountain . With that in mind, you don't want to waste Phoenix Downs too quickly, but you also don't want to hold onto them too long.
Speaking of items, buy as many items as you want, especially status damage recovery items . Everything is cheap compared to the money you earn in the game, so stock up on items as status ailments can be a huge hindrance during gameplay.
If you go to the item shop and they offer new items for different status ailments, you will likely find these ailments in future dungeons . If you want a safe bet, get ten of each item before entering the dungeon.
Use quick save function and other powerful features
Since Final Fantasy 3 is unforgiving, be sure to use the quick save feature often. The original version of the game only allowed you to save on the world map , but the Pixel Remastered version adds quick saves to the game. Open your menu, click on QuickSave and decide to continue later.
However, it doesn't work like quick save in older games where you used it, were thrown into a menu and had to delete it after loading the file. Instead, you can continue playing after creating a quick save point, so you can return to it if you die during the dungeon. You can quick save while traveling through dungeons , or use it before a boss fight to reload the fight if you're losing.
Speaking of quick saves, you should check out the other extra features available in the console version to make the game easier or save time. For example, if you need to grind, you can use boosts to increase your experience or earn money. This way you can turn hours of grinding into minutes .
You can also turn off random encounters when you run out of resources in the middle of a dungeon. This way you can get out safely, go back to town and never miss a meeting to save your time.
