CES 2023: Tips And Tricks For The Biggest Inperson Tech Trade Event

I first went to the Consumer Electronics Show in the 1990s when then-Microsoft CEO Bill Gates gave his annual keynote speech. Las Vegas has changed a lot since then, but some of my entertainment recommendations harken back to those good old days.

For example, it is important to always wear comfortable shoes. I learned this lesson after a few bubbles at CES a few years ago. What has changed? Well, I suggest wearing leather most of the time at CES 2023, which starts on January 3rd for press, then actually starts on January 5th and ends on January 8th.

CES 2023 is expected to attract 100,000 techies, up from 175,212 in 2019, 171,268 in 2020 and more than 45,000 in 2022, according to an educated estimate by Gary Shapiro, CEO of the technology association behind the business show Consum Group. The entire event will feel like a shorter day than usual, in part because New Year's Eve falls on a Sunday and many workers take the day off on Monday. I still consider CES a beacon for the tech economy, as no other event covers the entire tech world. Companies want to build buzz at CES, which aims to signal products coming next year. I find the program an effective way to keep up with the latest technology. If you find the health risks tolerable, this can still be a valuable way to stay connected.

Apple won't be at the show, but almost every tech giant is. The tech industry will be here next week, although it's not a big deal these days. However, Sony will be in attendance and you can bet they will be talking about PlayStation VR 2 the most.

And while that might give you some optimism, the series risks firing tech professionals. Shapiro didn't notice a drop in signups, but he acknowledged a "rebalancing of the tech community."

Health protocol

This year's health protocol is different from CES 2022. Of course, the CTA would argue that it is safe. It says it will monitor Covid and other global health developments and follow WHO and CDC health protection guidelines and applicable federal, state and local laws.

Before leaving home, CES recommends getting a flu shot, following up on the COVID vaccine and booster shots, and getting tested regularly as the most effective way to detect Covid and isolate if infected.

Beginning September 10, 2022, CDC guidelines require foreign travelers to the United States to show proof of coronavirus vaccination before boarding a flight to the United States. CES will provide access to rapid antigen testing. If you feel sick at CES, CTA will offer free tests at designated medical facilities. If the test results are positive, he will recommend isolation from the CDC. Masks will also be provided. As of 2020, CES has improved the ventilation system and increased outside airflow. They will have fewer ground contact points in high traffic areas. There will be more room for social distancing. There will be one-way traffic flow at the checkpoint entry point. It is recommended to avoid handshakes and use hand sanitizers, which will be available on the premises.

Get a badge and join the show

You must be in the technology industry to qualify for the program. This place is set up for tourists not professionals and the reception is for weed tourists.

With 100,000 people at the show, you don't want to be stuck in long lines. You can avoid long front lines by collecting your badge, showing your ID and showing up early for check-in. You can get a CES badge at airport baggage claim areas and at most locations.

Together, this provides a major force working for the Metaverse. Stasis will slow down these processes, but I don't think it will kill the Metaverse.
