SOUTH BURLINGTON, Va., Oct. 31, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — DynaPower, a global leader in energy conversion and storage solutions, has partnered with Alphastructure and Montgomery County, Maryland to develop energy storage equipment to ensure uninterrupted power supply . Delivery. Electric bus fleet of the district, which uses local production, including from renewable sources.

The Brookville Smart Energy Bus Depot uses integrated solar panels, microgrids for energy storage and electric charging stations to eventually charge 70 electric buses (50% of Brookville's bus fleet) with a capacity of 4.14 MW. Converting these 70 buses from diesel engines to electricity at domestic microgrid depots will reduce lifecycle emissions by 62%, resulting in over 160,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions over the next 25 years.

The Dynapower 3MW / 4.3MWh CPS-I integrated energy storage system provides microgrid battery energy storage, storing energy to charge electric buses and providing 100% uptime during grid outages. It also allows participation in a demand response program with Potomac Electric Power Company (PEPCO), which supports the operation and optimization of the regional grid to increase the energy resilience of local residents and businesses.

Statewide, Maryland is working to have 50% more zero-emission buses by 2030. The Brookville Smart Energy Bus Depot is in line with the county's priorities to improve community and infrastructure resilience by reducing vehicle emissions.

"We are honored to support Montgomery County's sustainability, electrification and climate resilience efforts," said Adam Knudsen, CEO of Dyna Power.
