REVIEW: 2023 Cadillac XT6 Sport

REVIEW: 2023 Cadillac XT6 Sport

This week we take a look at the three-row luxury SUV, the 2023 Cadillac XT6 Sport. The XT6 was created a few years ago to fill the gap between the 5-seater XT5 and the larger Escalade, which was expensive and too big. For several people.

The front of the XT6 has a distinctive Cadillac look with vertical LED lights, 20-inch wheels and a large grille that gives the XT6 an aggressive look. A rear spoiler and two square tailpipes complete the rear look.

Power plant

Lift the hood and you'll find a very reliable 310-hp 3.6-liter V6 mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The XT6 comes standard with front-wheel drive, but my test car had optional all-wheel drive.

The XT6 is available in 3 trim levels, the premium Sport you see here, the Luxury and the Luxury Premium.

Inside the XT6 you'll find incredibly plush leather seats, and the power lumbar support is quite accessible if you have back problems.

A bright, colorful instrument panel greets you as you sit behind the electric, heated, tilting steering wheel. At the center of the large tachometer and speedometer is the driver information system, which is controlled from the steering wheel and provides the driver with a wealth of information . 2023 Cadillac XT6 Carpro interior ready 2023 Cadillac XT6 Dash Trim CarPro Credit

If you go through the dash of both door panels, you'll find plenty of carbon fiber that comes standard with the Sport Package.

The center console has large concealed cup holders and a place to charge your mobile phone. You can also find the shifter and switch between Touring, All-Wheel Drive, Sport and Off-Road modes. There are also shortcuts for audio, navigation and Bluetooth.

It's been one of my favorite interface systems for years. You can use the system as a touchscreen, or there's a circular button on the keypad if you want to scroll through the options. CUE offers advanced 3D GPS, Wi-Fi and phone navigation. Integration compatibility with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

This is very useful when there are 3rd row passengers.

The XT6's second-row seats are spacious and feature captain's chairs with flip-up armrests, but you can also get a bench seat. You can slide the seats back and forth or fold them down to access the 3rd row. Second-row occupants can control their own climate and get two USB-C ports.

standard function

The XT6 Sport offers everything you expect from a well-equipped Cadillac. Highlights include a Bose stereo system, heated rear seats, UltraView power sunroof, audio charger, keyless entry and remote start.

In terms of safety, you get blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, front and rear automatic braking and adaptive cruise control.

Options include GM's Super Cruise system, adaptive cruise control, cabin ionizer, heated and cooled front seats, head-up display, emergency braking and heated rear seats, which cost 13,600 $.

The Super Cruise's self-driving system is the best I've ever experienced. In short, GM managed and mapped 250,000 miles of isolated highway.

When you are on the approved track, you will receive a notification on your dashboard. Set the cruise control, press the Super Cruise button and the car will literally drive itself. When you want to change lanes, turn on the turn signal and it will ensure you have enough space to change lanes.

A camera on the steering wheel monitors your eyes to make sure you're in focus. Otherwise, you will receive a verbal warning. The car then slows, the turn signal comes on, and it pulls you safely off the road, and OnStar calls for help. This is a case where the driver is unable to move.

drive and drive

The XT6 handles, grips and corners very well and is incredibly quiet inside. Fuel consumption is 18 in the city, 25 on the highway.

It also has start/stop technology, but has a button to turn it off.

What will you pay?

MSRP is $75,190, putting the XT6 on par with the other three luxury SUVs in the lineup
